United States. Plews & Edelmann announced the addition of 55 new parts to its portfolio in January, including 19 exclusive SKUs, strengthening its coverage in hydraulic and electric power steering.
The launches provide coverage for more than 30 million vehicles in operation (VIOs).
The expansion includes exclusive new hard parts—such as rack and pinion assemblies, pumps and gears for recent applications—and the debut of a new line of Electric Power Steering (EPS) Torque Sensors. These components allow for specific repairs to electrical systems, avoiding complete replacement of the unit.
"Our goal is to stay ahead of the market by identifying gaps that leave technicians without options," said Anthony Holguin, Director of Category Management at Plews & Edelmann. "By adding Torque Sensors to our EPS line and releasing exclusive hard parts for traditional hydraulic systems, we are giving professional technicians the ability to service vehicles that previously required a dealership visit."
With this strategy, the company reinforces its position as a provider of comprehensive solutions in power steering, in a context where the market is migrating towards repair technologies for electrical systems.
"We are constantly listening to our customers and looking for ways to help them grow their business," said Tony Edwards, Vice President of Sales. "Professional technicians depend on having the right parts to keep their shops running. By offering solutions they can't find anywhere else, we reinforce our commitment to their success."
