Intertraffic Mexico to open dialogue with authorities on mobility issues

Intertraffic

Mexico. Rosario Ruiz, Director of Conferences at Tarsus, a company focused on the organization of trade fairs, presented relevant details about Intertraffic Mexico, a leading mobility and transportation event in Mexico and Latin America.

Ruiz indicated that these fundamental axes will be the focus of attention during the seventh edition of the event, which will take place from November 14 to 17 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City. "In these axes we will seek to join the triple helix; that is, to the public, private and academic sectors, to reflect on the mobility of the future," Ruiz said.

First, he mentioned the axis of "smart mobility", highlighting that, by 2030, cities will be interconnected in an unprecedented way, with technology that will be fully integrated into the transport system.

Autonomous vehicles, in particular, will play an important role in reducing congestion and improving travel efficiency. One of the relevant speakers on this topic will be Chris de Veer, who is Strategic Advisor for Smart Mobility of the Province of North Holland in the Netherlands and who will share good practices from that country.

Second, Ruiz stressed the importance of "road safety." On October 10, the National Strategy for Mobility and Road Safety (Enamov) 2023 – 2042 was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), "with which our country made the commitment to reduce at least 50% of deaths caused by traffic accidents nationwide by 2030, so, in the future, road safety will be prioritized with advanced technology to prevent accidents," said the Director of Conferences at Tarsus.

Some of the speakers who will participate in the dialogue in this area will be Sofía Margarita Provencio, head of Advisors of the Mobility Commission in the Chamber of Deputies; Constanza Delón, Director of Road Safety and Information Monitoring at SEMOVI – CDMX; Rubén Aranda, Global Safety Director of Aleatica; and María Segui Gómez of the World Health Organization.

The third pillar of Intertraffic Mexico's conference program will be "sustainable mobility".

"Mexico is expected to become a leader in the adoption of clean technologies and energy in transportation, with net-zero vehicles that will drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said the director. To this end, they will discuss advances in sustainable urban mobility with specialists from RED Planners, UNAM and the Institute of Transport and Development Policy, among others.

For his part, José Navarro, director of Tarsus, announced that the seventh edition of Intertraffic Mexico will have more than 35 speakers and 13 conferences that will address these fundamental axes. He also informed that the event will take place from November 14 to 16, 2023 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City, with an exhibition floor of 4,000 m2, more than 2,500 visitors and more than 60 exhibitors.
