International. Plews & Edelmann announced the launch of the new Edelmann Elite return hoses, a completely new product category within the aftermarket for hydraulic steering systems.
The company highlighted that this incorporation brings the high-performance engineering, characteristic of the Elite line, to the return side of the steering system, a segment that until now did not have a high-performance alternative in the aftermarket.
For more than six years, the Edelmann Elite line has focused on pressure hoses for power steering systems, setting a standard of performance for one of the system's most demanding components. With the arrival of the new return hoses, the company seeks to offer a comprehensive solution for both sides of the circuit.
The new line is designed to make shop work easier, with fully assembled return line assemblies that include the correct path and accessories, ready to install without the need for cutting or manual manufacturing. In addition, the offer includes 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" round hoses, providing options for different distribution and repair needs.
Each assembly incorporates original style fittings that do not require adapters, zinc-coated tubing for corrosion protection, and double-beaded ends with a serrated design to ensure a firm connection between the hose and coupling. In addition, the improved rubber formulation halves oil swelling and offers greater resistance to heat and ozone, factors that often accelerate the premature hardening of conventional hoses.
"For more than six years, Edelmann Elite has been synonymous with high-performance pressure hoses, the most demanding in the system," said Anthony Holguin, Director of Category Management at Plews & Edelmann. "Bringing the Elite brand to the return side represents a whole new category for our line and for the market. With the Elite return assemblies fully assembled, a technician can now install a true Elite hose on each side of the repair."
The company noted that simultaneously replacing the pressure and return lines helps protect the complete repair, as fluid contamination on the return side is one of the most common causes of premature failure in newly installed pumps. According to Plews & Edelmann, this new category represents an additional business opportunity for dealers and contributes to the reduction of warranty claims.
"This is a completely new option for the power steering aftermarket," said Tony Edwards, vice president of sales at Plews & Edelmann. "There has never been a high-performance return hose; Until now, the return side was considered a secondary element. We built this category from the ground up this year, and these sets offer our dealers something really new to market."
The new Edelmann Elite return hoses are part of Plews & Edelmann's Total Solution strategy, an approach that seeks to comprehensively address every component involved in a power steering repair, including pump, rack, hoses, cooler, filter and fluid.
The company highlighted that its portfolio includes newly manufactured rigid components, thousands of packages specific to power steering applications and a 100-year or million-mile warranty for Edelmann Elite products, with the aim of minimizing warranty returns and ensuring successful repairs from the first intervention.
The new Edelmann Elite return hoses, both in assembled assemblies and rolls, are now available through authorized aftermarket dealers.
