United States. The PHINIA brand has supplied more than 24 million starters and alternators in the Americas over the last decade and reaffirms its commitment to the development of new technologies for low-emission mobility.
PHINIA commemorated the 130th anniversary of its Delco Remy brand, a milestone that highlights more than a century of innovation in the development of starters and alternators for commercial vehicles, industrial machinery, off-highway equipment and the aftermarket.
Recognized by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), fleets, distributors and operators around the world, Delco Remy has delivered more than 24 million starters and alternators in the Americas over the past ten years. Its solutions are present in applications for medium and heavy trucks, buses, agricultural and construction machinery, vessels, power generation equipment and other industrial sectors.
As part of this celebration, PHINIA reaffirmed its commitment to continue investing in the development of electric system technologies that respond to the evolution of the commercial vehicle market and contribute to mobility solutions with lower emissions.
"Reaching 130 years is a testament to the strength of the Delco Remy brand, the performance of our products, the loyalty of our customers and the commitment of our team," said Mike Coetzee, vice president and general manager for the Americas at PHINIA. "Throughout every major transformation of the automotive and commercial vehicle industry, Delco Remy has been able to adapt, innovate and deliver the reliable electrical systems our customers need."
Currently, under PHINIA, the brand holds 172 patents related to starter motor and alternator technologies, reflecting its permanent focus on innovation and new product development.
Coetzee further highlighted that although electrification continues to advance, internal combustion engines will continue to play a relevant role, especially in segments such as heavy-duty and long-distance transport, where there are still practical and infrastructure challenges for the mass adoption of electric technologies. In this context, PHINIA will continue to strengthen Delco Remy's portfolio to respond to the needs of the global market.
With manufacturing operations in Brazil and Mexico and a presence in markets around the world, Delco Remy seeks to consolidate its leadership in electric solutions for commercial and industrial vehicles over the coming decades.
