What are the most substituted pieces in the workshops of Colombia?

Caja de herramientas

Latin America. During their six years of service in Colombia, the Eurotalleres have used the Autotecnic platform more than 7,600 times, which has generated usage trends.

The recent launch of the Eurotaller network in Bogotá led the representative in Colombia of GroupAuto International to present the first report on the technical consultations made by the workshops to Autotecnic, the digital tool for technical documentation of all vehicle brands in the Colombian market.

Since 2016, at the end of June 1, the repair resource management center dedicated to the automotive workshop received 7,628 inquiries, translated into mechanical problems that caused the vehicles not to operate and required the intervention of Autotecnic technicians.

The most frequent of the Eurotalleres in Colombia were related to dismantling and assembling parts. In its order, the most replaced parts were the gasoline pump (31%), ignition coils (25%), Diesel common rail injectors (19%), relays (15%) and control units (10%).

In turn, the top five of the most recurrent failures identified by the workshop network is headed by the electrical installation (28%), followed by sensors (23%), electric actuators (21%) and finally module programming (10%).

The most consulted brands were Toyota (22%) and then, with the same percentage, Mercedes and BMW (20%). Similarly, Chevrolet and Nissan followed with 19%.

By models, the ranking of the most consulted is led by Captiva, engine 2.4 (year 2008); followed by Q5, 2.0 TDI engine (2008); Amarok, 2.0 BiTDi engine (2010); Hilux, 3.0 D engine (2004) and Navarra NP 300, 2.5D engine (2006).

They are brands and models that at least Toni Diestre, delegate in Latin America of Autotecnic, would not have crossed his mind. However, he clarifies that "these five brands and models represent the ones that generate the most difficulty for the workshops when it comes to repairing them."

This is explained by the lack of technical information, and the complexity and cost of access to repair manuals by independent workshops.

The report shows a similarity in the typology of consultations in capital cities such as Medellín, Cali and Bogotá, in which Eurotaller Colombia is present.
