Modine introduces EVantage line for commercial electric vehicles

Vehículo eléctrico

International. The new plug-and-play systems for the thermal management of power electronics and electric vehicle battery are easily integrated into a wide range of vehicles for land, marine and aviation applications, as well as stationary.

To improve the performance, range, battery life and safety of commercial electric vehicles (EVs), Modine announced the general availability of its EVantage thermal management system suite for commercial electric vehicle chassis.

EVantage's Thermal Battery Management System (BTMS) offers customers full control of battery temperature in all environments; from hot summer afternoons to icy winter mornings.

With multi-stage cooling and heating, the EVantage BTMS optimizes the temperature range for a complete battery bank with a single unit and minimizes energy consumption.

The EVantage Electronics Cooling Package (ECP) keeps the traction motor and power electronics cool for all loads. This complete solution is designed to maintain optimal fluid temperatures for the traction motor and power electronic circuits using multi-zone cooling.

A complete thermal solution

With the new EVantage BTMS and ECP, Modine provides a complete thermal solution to its commercial, specialized and specially designed electric vehicle customers, allowing them to concentrate their own engineering resources on other value-added activities.

Combining Modine's state-of-the-art patented heat exchanger technology and custom smart electronics, the EVantage suite maximizes cooling and minimizes power consumption in a compact form factor.

By managing thermal conditions during vehicle charging and operation, thermal solutions improve the performance, longevity and safety of commercial electric vehicles.

"As the commercial vehicle market shifts to electrification, Modine is once again at the forefront of improving performance and safety while increasing vehicle life and range," said Gina Bonini, vice president and general manager of Advanced Thermal Systems at Modine.

"By addressing our customers' ever-evolving heat charging and environmental requirements, EVantage solutions provide the best possible performance for batteries and power electronics while ensuring safer commercial electric vehicles through intelligent thermal management during vehicle charging and operation."" Bonini added.

Modine's thermal management products are particularly suitable for public transport buses, coaches and school buses, special vehicles and zero-emission trucks, including vans used in last-mile delivery.
