China. Automechanika Shanghai is preparing its 2025 edition, which will take place from November 26 to 29. The event is expected to receive a record 7,000 exhibitors, who will occupy the entire 15 pavilions of the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center (NECC), with an area of 383,000 m².
This will be the first time in the history of the event that a scale of this magnitude has been reached.
The event is positioned as a strategic platform for marketing, trade, information exchange and training, adapting to current market trends. This year, Automechanika Shanghai's agenda reflects the innovations and transformations that drive sustainability in the automotive industry.
"Automechanika Shanghai has become one of the most influential platforms in the automotive industry to foster collaboration at the global level and showcase innovative technological breakthroughs. Last year we welcomed attendees from more than 180 countries and regions, achieving record levels of exhibitor and visitor participation," said Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt.
Expansion of sectors and new market opportunities
The fair will showcase products, services and technologies for the entire automotive ecosystem, from research and development to manufacturing, sales and after-sales. The increase in the participation of exhibitors linked to new energy vehicles stands out, which will represent more than half of the total. This sector includes advances in traditional components, diagnostics and repair, body and paint, accessories and customization.
The New Energy and Connectivity area will grow by 50%, occupying 39,000 m². Battery technologies, electric motors, energy control systems, charging and storage, hydrogen fuel cells, assisted driving systems, intelligent chassis and thermal management will be on display here. Innovation4Mobility will offer a vision of the future with exhibitions, forums and startup activities, including collaborations between research institutes, universities and financial institutions to present developing technologies.
The Digital Services and Solutions sector will also have a prominent space, presenting applications that improve efficiency and reduce costs in the aftermarket, including cross-border e-commerce, smart logistics and supply chain management.
On the other hand, the Tires and Wheels sector will increase its space by 50%, reflecting the demand for innovation for electric vehicles, which require products adapted to higher weights, fast acceleration, noise reduction and specific energy needs.
More than 60% of the exhibitors will also attend to the commercial vehicle sector, highlighting the evolution of transport and logistics, with a special focus on emerging markets linked to the Belt and Road initiative.
Other notable sectors will be Parts & Components, Electrical & Electronics, Accessories, Customization, and Diagnostics & Repair / Body & Painting.
Training, international cooperation and side events
Among the highlights is the International Automotive Industry Conference 2025, which will address the impact of current trends on supply chains, market dynamics, and current regulations. In addition, the 2025 Automotive Industry Talent Development Conference will place an emphasis on training professionals and incorporating Gen Z, complemented by a program to develop the skills needed for market changes.
For the first time, the Automechanika Shanghai Technology Seminar Series will be held, with global experts discussing electric powertrains, thermal management, autonomous driving, intelligent chassis, new materials and tire technology.
