"Brazil has a very large manufacturing base of vehicles and auto parts"

Arthur Strommer de Farias, vicepresidente de Metalúrgica Termo-Eléctrica (MTE)

Latin America. We spoke with Arthur Strommer de Farias, vice president of Metalúrgica Termo-Eléctrica (MTE), a company with more than 60 years of tradition as a supplier of automotive parts in Brazil that will be present at AutoAméricas.

As Strommer de Farias points out, the company has long specialized in temperature control products and thermostats, but with new technologies and early management of injection engines growing, they have expanded into the management side of the car's engine.

Today, this company that was born under the name Metalúrgica Termo-Eléctrica focuses mainly on sensors, and has around 24 different "product families".

"So, our focus right now for this year is that we won't expand into new product families or different types of sensors, but rather improve our portfolio for these new markets because the models are different from country to country," said the MTE vice president.

Hence, they make a great effort in the development and linking of products to serve these markets.

"Brazil has a very large manufacturing base of vehicles and auto parts," he points out, but at the same time points out that Brazilian vehicles are losing market share year after year.

For this reason, he recognizes that although 34 years ago they began focusing on Brazilian vehicles that would be common in this market, they have had to adapt to vehicles from Asia.

Finally, he considers AutoAméricas to be "the perfect opportunity to find new clients in new markets," as he admits that they have performed shows everywhere for many years "and it is very difficult to reach a new market where you don't meet people." Hence their excitement with the event scheduled for March 7 and 8 at the Miami Airport Convention Center.
