United States. CRP Automotive announced the launch of its water pump assembly kit that services some of BMW's most popular applications from 2007 to 2010.
The Rein Automotive Water Pump Mounting Kit (CRP P/N WPU0505) has been designed to improve original equipment design and includes an all-aluminum water pump housing, which replaces the plastic version of the original equipment, says CRP.
"One of the most common complaints of OE water pump assembly for these BMW 6-cylinder 3.0L engines is that the plastic housings had a tendency to crack around 50 to 60,000 miles, due to high vibration and heat," explained CRP Automotive's director of product innovation. Christian Eichstaedt.
"The resulting crack would lead to a loss of coolant that would eventually lead to a short circuit in the electrical part of the pump," Eichstaedt noted, adding that CRP developed this Rein water pump kit with an all-aluminum pump housing to combat this problem, while also replacing the plastic flange and cap with aluminum components to further reinforce the repair.
"Technicians who choose this kit can rest assured that their repair will be maintained," he said.
The Rein water pump assembly kit includes all hoses, clamps, bolts and hardware needed to complete a successful service.
The kit also includes aluminum mounting screws and any application-specific components, ensuring technicians have a quick and trouble-free installation, according to CRP.
Rein water pump assembly kits are available for popular BMW models, CRP says, including 2008-10 135I, 2007-10 335I, 2009-10 335I XDRIVE and 2007-08 335XI, with application coverage exceeding 100,000 VIO in the US and Canada.
