Mexican Spare Parts Congress Brought Together 350 Industry Leaders

Mexico. More than 250 leaders of the auto parts industry were part of the first Mexican Congress of Automotive Spare Parts, held at the Hacienda de Los Morales, Mexico City.

This, the first event specialized in the auto parts market that takes place in Mexico, was carried out by the National Auto Parts Industry (INA ) in collaboration with the National Association of Representatives, Importers and Distributors of Automotive Spare Parts and Accessories (Aridra) and PIFA Consulting.

Participants included manufacturers, wholesalers, counter chains and spare auto parts technology companies in Mexico.

In addition, it was attended by the president and CEO of the Auto Care Association, Bill Hanvey, and his counterpart, Paul McCarthy, representative of MEMA Aftermarket.

For his part, the president of Aridra, Antonio López Díaz, mentioned during the inaugural speech the importance of the aftermarket in Mexico, which has a value of around 30,000 million dollars, so he declared the intention that this Congress be organized annually.

For his part, the executive president of the INA, Francisco N. González Díaz, highlighted the role of the auto parts industry in Mexico, whose production value exceeded US $ 3,400 per second in 2022.

In terms of exports, this sector reached US$2,800 per second, while employing nearly 900,000 people and attracting 56% of foreign automotive direct investment.

During the inauguration, the president of PIFA Consulting, Fernando Careaga, explained that the objective of the Congress is to unite the aftermarket in Mexico to address the challenges and opportunities of the sector and, thus, promote new trends in marketing that set the tone for sustainable and dynamic growth towards the new era of electromobility and digitalization.

At the event, keynote lectures and panels specialized in technology and other fields of the aftermarket were held, with leading manufacturers, distributors and service providers such as ROLCAR, Hellamex, Schaeffler, Bosch, Morsa Group, AutoTodo, eBay, Mercado Libre, among others, to talk about the present and future panorama of the sector and how to face current challenges.
