Colombia. Bridgestone opened three new retreading plants in Colombia. They began working with Bandag in the cities of Cúcuta, Mosquera and Medellín. This will add to the company's Premium Bandag offer in the country.

In this way, Bridgestone seeks to expand its presence nationwide, with which it expects to complete a total of five Bandag plants in the country. According to the organization, the Cúcuta plant has a space of 1,000 m2.

Meanwhile, Mosquera has an area of 2,000 m2 and Medellín has a total of 2,500 m2. These also have the Eco-Heater system of ecological heaters and generate 250 direct jobs.

The Sales Manager for Bridgestone Colombia, María Fernanda Niño Páez, said: "We know, without a doubt, that retreading is a great example of sustainability and optimization of the life cycle of tires."

"This alliance with the Servireencauche Group of Colombia helps us fulfill our environmental mission, to guarantee a healthier environment for current and future generations," he added.

Likewise, Niño indicated that with the opening of these three Bandag, greater coverage can be provided to the transport sector with a product of high quality and innovation.

The Medellín plant has laser shearography equipment, unique in Colombia. This specialized technology allows the inspection of housings and the optimization of quality control of finished products.

Both Medellín and the Mosquera plant have the AZ extruder, a German technological equipment to apply the cushion at moldable temperature.
