Sono Motors and Bosch confirm European partnership

Automotive partnership

International. Initially, 50 Bosch service locations in Germany will be trained as authorized service centers for Sono Motors solar electric vehicles.

Sono Motors, the Munich-based solar mobility OEM, and well-known German company Bosch have agreed to cooperate on a joint European network of auto repair shops.

Within the framework of the Bosch Car Service workshop concept, all maintenance and repair services will be offered in accordance with modern standards.

Owners of the Sion, Sono Motor's solar electric vehicle, will be able to use all services offered by participating auto repair shops, including repair, service, maintenance and warranty services.

The total of 50 qualified Bosch Car Services locations that will receive training in the launch phase will be distributed throughout Germany, covering both major cities and rural areas.

Additional qualified service centers will be added in the subsequent launch to create a comprehensive service network available in many European countries.

The staff of Bosch partner workshops will receive extensive pre-training from Sono Motors, after which they will be authorized to carry out repairs to high-voltage, photovoltaic and safety systems with the assistance, if necessary, of Sono Motors Field Technical Service.

All repair, warranty and proactive services can only be performed by authorized partner shops, which will be recognizable by a sign that says "Sono Motors Service Partner" outside of auto repair shops.

To make it even easier to find the right repair shop, Sono Motors plans to provide a shop finder on its website.

Laurin Hahn, CEO and co-founder of Sono Motors, said: "We are proud of our strategic partnership with Bosch Car Service, a professional partner for all things automobile, which we believe demonstrates the reputation we are gaining as an OEM.

"The Bosch brand stands for the highest quality, and the workshop experts at Bosch Car Service perform their service and repair work according to modern standards. All this makes Bosch a perfect partner for Sono Motors to offer our customers comprehensive services throughout Europe," he added.

Thomas Winter, vice president of Workshop Concepts at Bosch, said: "This further underlines Bosch Car Service's competence in electric vehicles and helps to win and retain new customer groups as well."
