eBay acquires myFitment group of companies

myFitment

International. According to the e-commerce company, myFitment's tools help sellers by optimizing fit data for their listings, ensuring customers order the right parts and accessories for their vehicle.

As of August 23, eBay acquired myFitment. This was announced by eBay Inc. and the myFitment group of companies, which includes, but is not limited to, myFitment, LLC and Illumaware, LLC.

eBay notes that myFitment's tools help sellers by optimizing fit data for their listings, ensuring customers order the right parts and accessories for their vehicle. This reduces returns and increases buyer satisfaction.

"This acquisition is an important step in growing eBay's key parts and accessories category and advancing its technology-based reinvention by bringing a valuable technology-based tool in-house and ensuring continued benefits for eBay sellers and buyers," the company said.

eBay Motors Vice President Chris Prill says eBay is home to more than 500 million parts and accessories worldwide, ranging from new to old and hard-to-find spare parts.

"As we seek to improve the user experience within this category, it is critical that we provide innovative tools to help buyers find the right parts at the right price," Prill says.

"The integration of myFitment's proven technology marks an important step in eBay's technology reinvention. Not only will we streamline the listing process for sellers, but we will also offer an extra layer of confidence for buyers by simplifying the way they navigate inventory to find parts that fit their vehicle."

Brian Williams, chief operating officer of myFitment, said: "We founded myFitment to help online parts and accessories sellers use technology to better connect with their customers, increase their sales and grow their businesses."

"eBay is one of the world's leading platforms for people looking to start or grow their online business, and I can't think of a better partner to help bring our technology to more vehicle and motorsport enthusiasts and businesses we've served for nearly 10 years." Reaffirms.
