United States. The Auto Care Association has added Jennifer Keaton as its new director of government affairs.
Keaton will work within a four-person department that will advocate on behalf of the automotive aftermarket with federal and state lawmakers, as well as relevant regulatory agencies.
The association noted that its role is critical in ensuring the management of state legislation and regulations affecting the auto care industry.
"We are excited to have Jennifer join the Auto Care team," said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO of the Auto Care Association.
"His years of hands-on experience at Hill will be invaluable to our industry as we face increased regulations and restrictions on access to vehicle data. He learns fast and has already proven to be a great asset to our team."
Prior to joining the Auto Care Association, Keaton was vice president of congressional affairs at the Association of Zoologics and Aquariums. For ten years, Keaton worked on Capitol Hill as legislative director to Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (Ohio), senior legislative assistant to the representative.
Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) and legislative assistant to Rep. Ron Klink (Pa.).
Keaton received his undergraduate degrees in political science and international studies and a master's degree in international affairs from American University in Washington, D.C.
She is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Keaton says she is "honored and excited to stand up for the industry, especially on the critical issue of the right to redress."
