Colombia. According to the most recent report of the Fenalco and Andi unions on the automotive market in Colombia, a sustained growth in the sale of new electric and hybrid vehicles is reported during October 2021.
According to the reported data, during the tenth month of the year 2,351 new electric and hybrid vehicles were registered throughout the country. The accumulated of the year reaches 13,537 vehicles of this type.
According to the report, the brands preferred by Colombians in this type of vehicle are Toyota, Ford, Suzuki, Kia and Volvo. Between the five, they account for 80% of the electric and hybrid cars sold. Toyota alone has almost 50% of the market for these vehicles.
In addition to the boost to the protection of the environment, one of the reasons that mark the sale of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country, is the exemption to the restriction of mobility for days in the main cities of fossil fuel vehicles, known locally as peak and plate.
