Digital buyers of auto parts in Mexico spend close to 3,000 pesos: eBay

Mexico. In Mexico, more than 37 million private cars were registered by December 2023, according to INEGI data, which in parallel implies the existence of an important market for parts and auto parts.

To meet the demand of this market, there is an increasing supply of digital platforms and marketplaces that list unique items, which offer different, faster and more competitive purchasing processes, and also provide personalized advice to buyers so that they have a satisfactory shopping experience.

In this sense, according to a study recently carried out in Mexico by eBay, 3 out of 10 people surveyed purchased car parts and accessories on digital platforms during 2023, with the main incentives being the ease of making purchases anywhere and at any time (39%), fast and easy delivery (34%) and savings in time and transportation to physical stores (36%).

In addition, 29% decided to buy on a digital platform because of the various forms of payment they offer. This is related to the average expenditure made by Mexican buyers in this category, who paid about 3,000 pesos on parts and auto parts, preferring to buy original brands, according to the survey.

The study also revealed that 9 out of 10 people know the origin of the products they buy, with the most frequent countries being the USA, China, Japan and Germany.

The parts and auto parts category is one of the main ones for eBay in Mexico, a market that offers a wide list of parts and auto parts for cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles, as well as competitive prices that favor buyers to save money on repairs, maintenance and improvements without sacrificing quality in the products.

Likewise, in the marketplace there are a series of guarantees that protect purchases, as is the case of Money Back, which seeks to provide security and confidence in the acquisition of the more than 93 million pieces and auto parts that exist in eBay's inventory.

With digital buyers in this category in mind, eBay released the AUTOPROM15 code to redeem a coupon for 15% off parts and auto parts such as lights and headlights, tires, wheels, interior and exterior parts for cars and motorcycles when making a minimum purchase of 20 USD (coupon valid for use up to two times).
