SEMA SHOW presents program to empower women in the industry

United States. The 2023 SEMA Show, the automotive trade show taking place Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Las Vegas, will feature a new program designed to help women advance their careers in the aftermarket.

SEMA's inaugural Women in Automotive Symposium will provide networking, mentoring and professional development opportunities that will provide attendees with invaluable new tools and essential skills.

Supported by the SEMA Businesswomen's Network (SBN), this new program will include an inspiring keynote address, a powerful networking lunch and informal chat, a four-part microlearning workshop segment and a panel discussion delivered by iconic industry executives and strong leaders.

It will be a unique opportunity for women in the automotive industry to come together and learn from each other's experiences.

"This year's SEMA Women in Automotive Symposium is shaping up to be an innovative opportunity to prepare women to tackle challenges and overcome adversity," said Pamela Brown Matthis, SEMA's Director of Education.

"The ultimate goal of this program is to help women elevate, empower and engage with the tools for success needed to accelerate and advance their businesses and careers."

The SEMA Women in Automotive Symposium 2023 will be held on Wednesday, November 1 in the North Hall (Room N258) starting at 11:00 a.m.

• 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. — Keynote address: "Momentum: How to gain and maintain a competitive advantage," with Julia Landauer (two-time racing champion and entrepreneur).

• 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. — Power Networking lunch and casual chat, hosted by Amanda Busick (FOX Sports reporter) and Carolyn Jackson (Vice President of Brand Strategy, Barrett-Jackson).

• 13:00-14:45 — Microlearning Lab (quick 15-minute workshops), with Melanie White (CEO and owner of Hellwig Products), Jacki Lutz (Senior Manager of Corporate Marketing Communications, Sensata Technologies), Deanna Singh (Managing Partner of Uplifting Impact) and Shaundra Dineen (motivational speaker and award-winning podcast host).

• 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. — Panel: "Powering the Future of Automotive: C-Suite Insights," co-hosted by SEMA Businesswomen's Network (SBN) and moderated by Cheryl Thompson (President/Founder, Center for Automotive Diversity, Inclusion and Advancement).
