Transtar reveals powerful improvements to its e-commerce platform

Comercio electrónico

United States. Transtar Industries announced enhancements to Transend, its e-commerce platform designed to make it easier to identify and order parts for mechanics repairing transmission and other complex vehicle systems.

These updates represent the latest evolution in the mission of Transtar, a leading automotive parts distributor and software solutions developer, to improve how auto repair shops run their businesses.

Transend now operates with a more powerful VIN decoding technology, allowing site users to discover more demanding product results, often down to a vehicle's equipment level.

This specificity speeds up the search and order-process and limits returns.

The user experience/user experience (UI/UX) user interface has also been improved. Since the platform launched in 2018, users of the site have searched for parts that fit the vehicle they are repairing by entering the license plate number, VIN or by year-make-model-engine.

Customers can now narrow product searches by additional vehicle category, brand and attribute parts. From the homepage, users can search by selecting a product line and completing a hierarchical breakdown to identify the specific parts.

Where previously users could only start searches by first identifying the vehicle, they can now search by filtering lines within the product, saving them considerable time and improving search accuracy.

Executive Vice President of Innovation Bryan Chaikin said: "There are hundreds or thousands of components in the most complex systems of a vehicle. After identifying which parts need repair or replacement, the mechanic must find and order them."

"That used to be harder than you might think: the traditional parts ordering process involved paper catalogs, and that search process is slow and imprecise. But in Transend, users enter vehicle identification information and receive a list of parts that fit the car they are repairing," Chaikin said.
