Mexico. The National Auto Parts Industry (INA) announced the departure of its CEO, Armando Cortés Galicia, who had led the association since June 19, 2023.
His retirement will be effective on August 15, 2024.
In his career at the INA, Cortés Galicia played a fundamental role in the evolution and strengthening of the auto parts sector in Mexico, which this year will close with record production.
Under his leadership, the auto parts sector underwent major transformations that have consolidated the industry's position in the global market and promoted innovation and sustainable development.
During his tenure, the INA achieved important milestones, including:
- Strengthening the aftermarket: The INA organized the first edition of its aftermarket congress, the International Aftermarket Summit (IAS).
- Expansion of the INA's membership base, composed mainly of Tier 1 suppliers.
- Improvement in the labor agenda in the auto parts industry: Implementation of actions that have contributed to compliance with the different provisions of the 2019 Labor Reform and the USMCA.
- He coordinated actions and strategies that allowed the auto parts sector to be linked more closely with different associations and chambers, including the participation of the INA as a special guest in the "U.S. - Mexico CEO Dialogue" initiative.
- It fostered innovation through events and initiatives that have promoted technological advances in the industry and the training of specialized talent; especially towards sustainable mobility.
- Economic growth: It sought to eliminate obstacles to the growth of the auto parts sector, promoting job creation and promoting economic development in the country.
The National Auto Parts Industry expressed recognition to Armando Cortés Galicia for his strategic vision, commitment and the successes achieved under his leadership. His contributions have significantly strengthened the INA, an association that currently represents more than 700 auto parts manufacturing plants in Mexico.
