Expopartes 2024 closed sales with about 85 million dollars

Colombia. The Auto Parts Expoparts Fair was held from June 5 to 7 in Plaza Mayor Medellín.

This event energized the aftermarket in the country and provided the city with a special encounter with the world of modified cars through XtremeFest.

For the first time, the fair took over all the facilities of the most important event center in the capital of Antioquia, with a highly positive balance for Medellín, but especially for the motor industry (cars, motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards and their parts, parts and accessories), which found in this space an ideal meeting point for the presentation of its products, which positions Expopartes: Auto Parts Fair as one of the most important in the region.

This event had the participation of more than 330 exhibitors from 23 countries, more than 19,000 visitors were registered and an estimated number of negotiations that can exceed 85 million dollars, as a result of the 440 brands that were present in each of the pavilions of Plaza Mayor Medellín.

China, one of the markets that has been gaining ground in the automotive industry, had a full pavilion and more than 40 exhibitors.

Carlos Andrés Pineda Osorio, national executive president of Asopartes stated that "the preliminary balance of Expopartes Auto Parts Fair is highly positive, with a turnover that preliminarily could be around85 million dollars in projections of closures and expectations during this year 2024, which represents a reactivation for the motor sector and for the entire industry chain, at a time when the sale of new vehicles has a significant drop, compared to a slight rebound in the motorcycle sector, with a projection that we hope will allow us to return to that figure of more than 800,000 units".

The union leader stressed that this is a commitment by businessmen and the union for the future of the sector, which is represented in the generation of business, wealth, taxes and youth employment, between 18 and 28 years old.

Among the events held within the framework of the fair was also the International Forum on Women's Leadership in the sector, which was attended by Pamina González, partner of HOW2GO and director for Colombia and Peru of IFEMA Madrid; Carolina Arregocés, manager of international relations for Autocare Association; Patricia Vega, representative of Messe Frankfurt, GMBH for Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela; and Norvy Barreiro, president of the National Committee of Women in Asopartes and vice president of the board of directors of Asopartes Antioquia.

In this forum, it was evident how women, through their skills and knowledge, have been gaining important ground within the sector, both in management and operational positions.
