Mexico. Yokohama, a Japanese company with 100 years of experience in the tire market, undertook the construction of its first plant in Coahuila, with which it intends to invest 413 million dollars in the industrial zone of Derramadero, where more than 1000 jobs will be generated.
The governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas, said that the state is attractive to national and foreign investors because of its security, skilled workforce, strategic geographic location and the education of its workers.
Jimenez recalled that last October he was at the headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, where he met and secured the investment for Coahuila.
The company, with Japanese capital, will start the production of tires for all types of vehicles, starting in the first two months of 2025. It will be built on an area of more than 60,000 square meters.
Yokohama currently has 35 plants in Asia, Europe and the Americas. At the time, executives of the Japanese company, such as Masataka Yamaishi, Nitin Mantri, Anil Gupta and Shinichiro Takimoto, agreed that the government fully supports its installation in this entity.
