      Details     04 June 2024           ![](https://www.aftermarketinternational.com/images/stories/AMI/2024/fabrica-chemours_altamira_stills-772.jpg)  *Mexico.* As a result of the **severe drought affecting much of Mexico**, [The Chemours Company](https://www.chemours.com/en) announced that it is complying with a government request to temporarily minimize water consumption, which has led to a pause in production at its **Altamira Titanium Dioxide (TiO2)** manufacturing plant to conserve water for surrounding communities.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is used for the manufacture of coatings, plastics and laminates; It is a key component of some of the brightest, whitest and most efficient applications on the market: glossy paints, crystalline plastics, glossy laminates and **highly durable coatings for the automotive and aerospace industries.**

Chemours remains committed to serving customers through its other world-class assets. We work closely with government, business, and community partners **to identify and implement short- and long-term solutions**.
