The automotive manufacturer [S-Riko](https://www.sumitomoriko.co.jp/english/) expanded its production plant, located in the suburban municipality of El Marqués, in the O'Donnell Industrial Park. For this project, the Japanese company invested 17.8 million dollars and added 200 jobs. According to Kazushi Shimizu, president of Japan's Sumitomo Riko Company Limited, this production facility is strategically located between Central and North America. Kazushi Shimizu said that this plant, which manufactures anti-vibration products, will position itself as the main plant in the sector. According to Shimizu, the company currently has 100 plants in 20 countries. Sumimoto Riko's first plant in Mexico was installed in 2012; now, it operates two production centers in Chihuahua and one in Querétaro. In 2017 it launched the new company name S-Riko in the state, mainly dedicated to the production of anti-vibration systems and internal aesthetic parts. - Advertising - "The expansion of S-Riko will favor Querétaro's presence nationally and internationally, by participating in the manufacture of anti-vibration products and interior parts, specifically in the headrests of automotive seats," explained the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero. The state secretary stressed that the new plant establishes sustainable actions towards 2050, which are aligned with the entity's environmental agenda. With this project, he explained, there are 10 investments in the automotive sector in the state by 2023, totaling US$652 million and the incorporation of 3,879 jobs.
